Bank Statement to Tally

Stop typing bank statements into Tally line by line. There's a better way.

Lightrr reads your bank statement PDFs — typed, scanned, or photographed — and exports them as Tally-ready XML vouchers. What took your data entry operator all afternoon takes under two minutes, with every row validated against the original page.

The problem

Tally's import is brilliant — if your data is already clean

Tally's XML import schema is well-designed. The bottleneck isn't the import — it's getting your bank statement into that schema without spending four hours on manual entry and making at least two fat-finger errors along the way.

01

Manual entry breaks ledgers

One misread digit on a ₹2,18,000 NEFT entry doesn't just break a ledger — it breaks a client's trust during audit season.

02

Your best people do the worst work

Skilled accountants spend real hours on transcription instead of the reconciliation and advisory work clients actually pay for.

03

Every bank formats differently

HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis — each has its own layout, column order, and date format. Manual templates break every time a bank updates its statement design.

How it works

Three steps from PDF to Tally voucher

1

Upload the statement as you received it

Digital PDF, scanned photocopy, or a phone photo of a printed statement — Lightrr handles all three. Bulk upload supported for a full month's statements at once.

Review the rows Lightrr flagged

Anything below the confidence threshold is highlighted in amber and shown side-by-side with the original page. Fix it in seconds, not hours.

Questions

Before you import into Tally

Does the Tally export actually import cleanly?

Yes. It's formatted to Tally's own voucher import schema, so it drags in without manual remapping. If a specific bank format ever behaves unexpectedly, our support team fixes the template — not just your one file.

Which Tally versions are supported?

Tally Prime and Tally ERP 9 both work. The XML schema is backward-compatible. If you're on an older version, let us know and we'll confirm compatibility.

Can I batch export a full month of statements?

Yes. Upload multiple statements at once and export them as a single Tally import file, or as separate files per statement — your choice.

What about scanned or photographed statements?

They work the same way. Scanned copies and photos go through an additional recognition pass first, then you get the same reviewable table before export.

Is my clients' bank data safe?

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, never used to train any model, and can be permanently deleted by you at any time. See our security page for full details.

Upload your first statement. See it in Tally in under two minutes.

No credit card, no setup call. If it doesn't save your team real hours on the very first file, it's not worth your time.
